Home of Saints
A visual designed for audio lectures on Youtube. An extract which talks about these lectures in depth;
Afghanistan has a long history of being a cradle of Islamic civilization and the origin and home of numerous prominent Scholars and Sufis/Islamic Mystics. In fact, it was popularly known as “Da Awliyawu Kor”, or “The Home of the Saints” which is where this channel draws its inspiration from. The ongoing conflict in Afghanistan has negatively impacted the country’s moderate culture and its identity as a tolerant society. The wars and invasions over the past 40 years have not only destroyed the country’s physical infrastructure, they also proved devastative for the social fabric and the traditional way of life for its people. As a result, Afghanistan is usually linked with extremism, xenophobia and militancy.
The first themed series of lectures is titled, “Mystics of the Past | Lessons for Future: The Life and Teachings of Afghan Saints”. Through this mini-series of lecture, we hope to provide a conducive space for our audience both Afghan and Non-Afghan to learn from and engage with our experts and scholars who will be giving short audio lectures on these prominent scholars and saints. As Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The word of wisdom is the lost property of the believer. Wherever he finds it, he is most deserving of it”.
