Ameer Akbar received his BFA Communication Design degree (Honours) in 2017 from Parsons School of Design (U.S.A) & a minor in Photography. He went on doing his MA in Graphic Communication Design at Central Saint Martins (U.K) in 2019.
Akbar has worked with Powersoft19, an I.T. company, as a Graphics and Concepts designer. He is currently working for HyperJar in London as a Marketing Designer.
Having lived in London, Paris, New York & Lahore, his work tends to incorporate both Eastern and Western design concepts. Being trilingual has played a great role in Akbar's typographic work as the Arabic and Latin scripts are entirely distinct from one another in terms of form and style of calligraphy.
Other than editorial work, website design, content creating & photography, Akbar also takes great interest in Fine Arts. The influence of the 18th and 19th centuries art & culture can be seen in his work. In addition to that, Akbar has experience in jewellery, furniture & interior design.
Painting since the age of 3, Akbar has a great deal of experience with different mediums, such as water-colours, pastels and oils. His work covers a vast range of subjects, from Victorian Galliformes and equestrian sports, to the Renaissance style portraits. Incorporating fine art with digital graphic design can be seen in his work.
Photography has been one of Akbar's many hobbies. Architecture, nature and self-portraits are the most prominent themes of his work. He is captivated by the various architectural styles found in the cities he has lived in. Whereas, his self-portraits touch more on family history and the fashion of different periods.
